FACILITY UPDATE – TEMPORARY CAR PARK CLOSURES

FACILITY UPDATE – TEMPORARY CAR PARK CLOSURES

Dear FDBA basketball stadium users,

We have been advocating for several years now in conjunction with Council and each level of Government for a stadium that provides for the regions basketball community as the 6 courts we currently have are not enough to service the enormous growth of the sport in this region.

We have been successful in attracting $45 million to develop our stadium. We are very grateful to the Frankston Council, the Federal Labor Government and the State Labor Government.

As part of the overall plan for the precinct, a new multi-level car park is being constructed where the old Kingston car yard site was – On the corner of Wells Road and Bardia Avenue.

This upgrade will provide over 300 free car spaces on a multi-level development which will be an enormous benefit to basketball patrons.

The works have already begun, meaning we have lost around 40 current car spaces whilst the construction occurs.

We ask for your patience during this time, as this is short term inconvenience will be necessary for long-term gain. Once construction is complete, we will have access to a brand-new car park that will accommodate over 300 cars.

Whilst the car park is being built, parking spaces will continue to be available on site and alongside the building. We kindly ask patrons to use car parking in Bardia Avenue in the meantime.

The FDBA will provide future updates when information comes to hand.

Thank you for your patience.
